HOW TO ARRIVE TO MERANO AND THE TRAUTTMANSDORFF GARDEN

By plane or train:

Nearest International Airport: Bolzano (Italy)

From the Bolzano Airport you reach the Bolzano main railway station in 20 min by taxi or by bus.
Other suitable international airports are Innsbruck (Austria, in the north) and Verona (Italy, in the south); both towns are at a distance of approx. 1:40 h – 2:00 h by train to Bolzano.
There are frequent train connections to Merano from the Bolzano main railway station (the trip takes about 40 min).
Once you leave the Merano railway station, take the Bus Line 4 or 1B (Bus 4 brings you also close to Hotel Tannerhof).

By car:

Coming from Austria (Innsbruck), take the highway (Brennerautobahn) until Brenner Pass; from there, continue south on the highway (Autostrada) A22 (Brennero - Modena), and exit at Bolzano Sud.
Coming from northern Italy (Verona, Trento), take the highway (Autostrada) A22 (Brennero - Modena), and exit at Bolzano Sud.
At the exit Bolzano Sud follow the signs to the Expressway Bolzano-Merano (ss 38, "MeBo"), and then exit at Merano Sud. Turnoff to Scena (to the right) at the second large roundabout.
To reach Hotel Tannerhof, you should leave the road to Scena at the first larger intersection to the left (you will see there a bridge) and then continue up Via Castel Gatto, until reaching a larger place in Via Dante; at this point, just continue straight upwards into the narrow Via Teleferica, in spite of the traffic sign which does not allow the entrance (except for residents – and you will soon be a resident of this place). After approx. 100 m in Via Teleferica, turn left into Via Jobmann and then you will see Hotel Tannerhof and its parking lot to your left.
